Alexandra Lapouridou

25 years dedicated to empowering students and giving them a voice!
Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Alexandra’s journey in the art of persuasion began at De La Salle High School of Thessaloniki, where she developed a profound love for debating and public speaking. Participating twice in the Greek delegation for the European Youth Parliament in Budapest and Paris, she discovered her passion for rhetoric and persuasive communication.
After graduating from De La Salle, Alexandra pursued her studies in English Literature and Linguistics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During her university years, she furthered her commitment to youth engagement by serving as a member of the European Youth Parliament office for two years. She then continued her academic journey with a Master’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, and Public Relations, where she honed her skills in Rhetoric and the Art of Persuasion.
In 2006, Alexandra founded the English debating club at De La Salle School, a program which has earned over 60 international first prizes in debating competitions across Europe and the USA, as well as more than 60 scholarships from Harvard University for the prestigious Harvard Model Congress program.
In 2015, she introduced “debating” to the 6th grade elementary school curriculum, and since then, the students love debating and are encouraged to use the English language in a fun and creative way. In 2025 she held the first debating competition for elementary school students in Northern Macedonia.

In 2025, Alexandra introduced the importance of rhetoric in the Greek Parliament after having been invited to give her testimonial in the Special Committee of Innovation and Education. She has participated as a key note speaker in several seminars and conventions and has advised numerous educators on how to organize their classes on the art of debate.
Alexandra has been the Principal of De La Salle Elementary School for 10 years and the Deputy Director of De La Salle School for 5 years. But above all, she has been a proud English Teacher of elementary school students for more than 25 years, frequently reminding those around her to "stay hungry, stay foolish". Her guiding motto “Carpe Diem” is the reflection of her belief that every moment matters.
